Chilliwack Museum & Archives
Explore the Museum at Chilliwack's former City Hall, today a National Historic Site. Inside, temporary exhibits explore modern issues in a historic light, while permanent exhibits highlight the meeting of aboriginal peoples and early settlers at the time of the 1858 gold rush. In our community gallery, share your experiences of Chilliwack as we look back to our rural roots. Finally, refresh and be inspired by a visit to our second floor Chamber’s Gallery, offering a variety of changing contemporary art exhibits.
Kids can get up close and personal with exhibits in the Discovery Cupboard, a new and engaging learning experience where artifacts can be touched.
The Chilliwack Archives is the central repository for eastern Fraser valley records. Photographs, books, documents, government records, newspapers, sound recordings and maps are available for use by researchers. Friendly staff can help answer your questions related to the history of the area. Admission to the museum is free and the museum also has a gift shop.
